EXCLUSIVE: Stand-off over counter-fraud strategy

A new counter-fraud strategy for councils has been delayed with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) objecting to some aspects of a draft version, The MJ understands.

A Fighting Fraud Locally Board made up of expert practitioners from local government, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), Local Government Association and DCLG have been meeting to work on a report detailing the strategy.
