Essex chief executive to leave for new KPMG role

Essex CC chief executive Joanna Killian is set to leave the county to take up a new role as a partner with big four consultancy giant KPMG, it has emerged.

She described her departure after nearly a decade in the top post, as 'the hardest decision of my career’.

‘But after nine years as chief executive, I feel the time is right for a change and there are exciting challenges presented by my new role,’ Ms Killian said.

‘Public services are facing huge challenges and will continue to do so,’ she added. ‘I know that I am leaving Essex in good hands and in good shape to face those challenges in the future.’
