Fears raised as uncertainty clouds funding settlement

Government plans to create financial certainty through a four-year funding settlement have been undermined by a lack of clarity on specific grants and by its own admissions the settlement may not stick, finance experts have claimed.

Despite a shift to longer-term deals, councils have been left in the dark over grants from other departments for specific services.
