The devolution of fiscal powers must go further in order to create a sustainable system of local government funding for the future, a new report by the think tank Centre for Cities has argued.
Centre for Cities said the devolution of £10bn stamp duty tax together with the responsibility for funding local housing benefit should be the next step in the Government’s ‘devolution revolution’.
