Interserve loses £34m

Support services firm Interserve has announced £34m losses in the first half of this year after a costly exit from the energy-from-waste sector.

The firm announced a £70m one-off charge in May to sever an energy-from-waste contract in Glasgow which had been dogged by difficulties.
