LGA bids for tax hike control

The Local Government Association (LGA) has called for tax hikes on second homes to be locally controlled rather than mandated from Westminster.

Ministers are consulting on plans to allow local authorities to increase council tax on second homes and reduce the time before increases can be applied to empty homes.
