LGA seeks rates distribution deal

The Local Government Association (LGA) has called for an exploration of sub-national distribution ahead of 100% retention of business rates.

In written evidence to the communities and local government select committee, the LGA said: ‘Areas working together may be able to develop their local economies. This is why a sub-national distributional system should be considered. However, it will be essential for this system to be kept under review.’
