Making the case for councils

Ahead of the Budget on 6 March, I have written on behalf of the Local Government Association to chancellor Jeremy Hunt about the financial challenges faced by our member councils.

Despite extra funding in the 2022 Autumn Statement and the recently announced £600m mainly for social care, a combination of increasing cost and demand pressures means local government remains in a parlous financial state.
