Local government minister Marcus Jones has forecast full integration of health and social care by the end of this Parliament.
Speaking at the annual Commons reception of the County All Party Parliamentary Group, the minister described adult social care as the 'most important challenge'.
He said: 'Local government has achieved a lot by reducing costs and rethinking their role. But we are committed to integrating social care and health by 2020 so it will feel like one service and we want to hear about any barriers to integration.’
