Councils are at risk of a funding shortfall for the Care Act as the Government may have underestimated demand and cost, according o the National Audit Office (NAO).
Despite good progress so far, and 99% of authorities confident they would implement the Care Act, the watchdog warned there may not be enough money, and cash-strapped councils could struggle to plug the gap in the event of a shortfall.
