North-South divide ‘is history’ says Clark

Cities minister Greg Clark this week rushed to defend the Government’s regional economic record by disputing claims from the Centre for Cities that the North-South divide has widened.

The centre’s annual survey of 64 UK cities, Cities Outlook 2015, found that between 2004-2013 cities in the South saw net jobs growth of 12.4%, outstripping the 0.9% growth in cities elsewhere.
