Westminster City Council has invested £500,000 in mobile CCTV cameras so that it can tackle fly-tipping… ‘on the fly’!
The central London authority handed over many of its CCTV operations to the Met Police in 2017 – but most have tended to focus on built-up shopping areas and roads. Yet some residential areas of the borough have experienced problems with fly-tippers hiding from the Met’s prying eyes.
