Councils dominated by a single political party are wasting £2.6bn a year through procurement, according to a new report by the Electoral Reform Society.
The report, The Cost Of One-Party Councils, claims such local authorities are at a greater risk of corruption than those, which are not dominated by one group or have a high number of uncontested seats.
