The wages and working conditions of the lowest-paid public sector workers have been made worse through austerity era outsourcing deals, a think tank has claimed.
A study released today by the Smith Institute claims through in-depth case studies that commissioning arrangements had placed downward pressure on employment standards, with cuts on some contracts passed directly on to low-paid workers.
