PCCs urge PM to rethink police commissioner plan

Police and crime commissioners (PCC) have called for prime minister David Cameron to rethink plans to hand their powers to elected mayors where boundaries overlap.

The proposals would mean that in some parts of the country elected mayors would govern regions that cut through emergency service regions, which some PCCs fear would lead to areas being forgotten or disrupt long-established working relationships.
