The Department of Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) former finance director will return to Whitehall in a new role focusing on devolution.
Simon Ridley, who left DCLG to become chief executive of the Planning Inspectorate last year, will come back to the department as director general for decentralisation and local growth from next month.
