Southend-on-Sea says other councils soaking up supported living capacity

Southend-on-Sea City Council has revealed a significant amount of its supported living capacity is taken up by out-of-area placements from other councils.

The authority said around 42% of the supported living market in the city was is taken up by the NHS and other councils. It said most out-of-area placements were from London boroughs, Essex CC and Thurrock Council.
