Council leaders have called for ‘fundamental reform’ of funding after the Spending Review launched a ‘new world’ of local government finance.
Chancellor George Osborne yesterday vowed that by 2019/20 local government would ‘spend the same in cash terms as it does today’ and urged councils to ‘draw on reserves’.
