Tories fear financial threat of local-central ‘disconnect’

Essex CC’s Tory leader has led the way for a potential Conservative local government revolt after a blistering attack on the ‘poorly handled’ finance settlement.

In a letter to prime minister David Cameron, seen by The MJ, Cllr David Finch said he was ‘concerned at the giant disconnect that is emerging between central government and local government on the ground’.
