Tri-borough arrangements face review as Labour gains Hammersmith & Fulham

Labour has seized control of Conservative flagship borough of Hammersmith and Fulham - a victory that could have significant implications for the west London tri-borough partnership embracing Kensington and Chelsea RLBC and Westminster City Council.

The party took 11 seats from the Conservative ‘low-tax’ council in a power shift which gives Labour a six-seat majority in Hammersmith and Fulham LBC and control for the first time since 2006.

Conservative MP for Fulham and Chelsea, Greg Hands, blamed the defeat on the Labour party’s campaign strategy of making the future of Charing Cross Hospital the key battleground issue.
