As the number of councils across the country with no overall control increases, the phenomenon of a ‘hung council’ creates uncertainty, poses questions and raises numerous challenges for chief executives and their teams.
I thought it might be useful to share our experience of dealing with this uncertainty. I was grateful to fellow chief executives and Local Government Association colleagues who shared their knowledge with me and gave me some great tips.
