Birmingham trust will 'accelerate' improvement of failing children's services

The new chair of Birmingham City Council’s children’s trust has insisted that the new model will deliver ‘accelerated’ change as inspectors highlighted continued failings within the authority.

Andrew Christie's appointment today as chair of the trust coincided with the publication of a new Ofsted re-inspection, which found that ‘serious and widespread failings’ had not been tackled effectively.
