Campaigners press for audit legislation review

Campaigners have pressed for review of the five-year-old Local Audit and Accountability Act to ensure it works ‘in the interest of local citizens’.

Joel Benjamin, a researcher at campaign group Research for Action, said ‘screws are being put on the fees available for external audit’ and ‘some quite nasty stuff is going to fall through the cracks’
