Charities attack mental capacity reforms

Liberty and 11 disability groups led by Mind have attacked the Government’s bill aimed at reforming deprivation of liberty safeguards (DoLS).

The group said that the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill, which is being considered by a House of Commons committee today, would extend from one to three years the time that people can be held without review.
