Chiefs criticised over lack of leadership on abuse

Chief executives of Nottinghamshire CC and Nottingham City Council over several decades have been criticised after failing to prevent ‘widespread’ child sexual abuse.

Chair of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), Professor Alexis Jay, concluded that neither council learned from their mistakes despite more than 30 years of evidence of failure to protect children in care.
