At a time when public purse strings are pulled the tightest, yet demand for public services is increasing in volume and complexity, one simple answer could be to reduce activity to core functions.
Saving money on community safety and the wider justice arena might sound appealing, but in the short and long-term I believe this would end up costing communities and local authorities more.
