Council buys company in £17.5m deal

Shetland Islands Council has bought a property investment and development company for just under £17.5m.

The council said the purchase of Shetland Leasing and Property Developments - which nets an annual income of around £2m - from the Shetland Charitable Trust would allow it to consolidate the islands’ colleges and the local authority’s office accommodation.
