Council escapes sanction despite missing deadline

Derby City Council has been given more time to tackle air pollution despite ministers warning of ‘serious consequences’ after it missed an earlier deadline.

The council is not expected to receive sanctions or fines even though it has yet to produce clean air proposals it was meant to submit by 15 September 2018.
