Council funding plea ahead of LEP wind-down

Council directors have called for the Government to protect them from a financial hit as Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) functions are transferred to English councils.

The Government has proposed to cut off LEPs from £10m of core funding next year and transfer responsibility for supporting local economies to councils.
