Council plans to choose commissioning model

By Jamie Hailstone | 25 February 2015

Northamptonshire CC has announced plans to outsource a series of services, as an exclusive poll by The MJ and the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) revealed almost a third of councils are also going down the same route.

Members of the county council voted last week (19 February) to start moving the local authority to a commissioning model.

Council officers will now draw up a number of options, including the development of a community interest company to deliver health and wellbeing services.
