Councils battle new accounting rules

Councils are battling to persuade the Government to override new rules that will have an 'unintended negative impact' on local authority revenue accounts.

The Local Government Association (LGA) and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy are working together to lobby Whitehall ahead of the implementation of IFRS 9 in April.
