Councils call for 'honesty' on National Care Service costs

Scottish local government leaders have called for ‘some honesty’ around the funding of the proposed National Care Service (NCS) and said the cost should instead be invested in current provision.

First minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed last week that her government would legislate to have a NCS in place before the next Scottish elections in 2026.
