Councils not held to account for commissioning social care, claims MP

Local authorities are not being held to account for the way they spend Government money on social care, a Public Accounts Committee member has claimed.

During the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) session yesterday, Anne Marie Morris said councils were not held to the same standards of transparency as commissioners were in the NHS.
