Cumbria launches legal battle against reorganisation

Cumbria CC has launched a legal challenge to the Government’s plans to create two unitary authorities for the county.

The county council, which instead wants to see a single unitary for Cumbria, has claimed in a letter to local government secretary Robert Jenrick that the Government’s proposal is ‘unlawful’.
