Delivering school transport services during a fuel crisis

Local authorities have not been immune to the cost of living crisis, with the sharp increases in fuel prices since the turn of the year having a substantive impact across many of our budget areas.

It has been especially felt in home-to -school transport, where providers are telling local authorities they are making losses and handing back routes, then re-tendering contracts at higher rates.
