Demands for the chancellor

With the Government’s ambitions for the country firmly cemented, focus has now shifted to the Autumn Statement.

In her speech to party conference, Theresa May was clear in her vision for ‘a country that works for everyone’ and promised her government would ‘invest in the institutions that make our country great’. That means taking ‘real’ steps to make sure local government is financially sustainable and able to use its unique strengths to help make her vision a reality.
