District councils are all too aware of the evolution of tow grn centres due to out-of-town shopping, migration to online shopping and other retail pressures. This is why they areasping the nettle and responding proactively to the changing face of our high streets.

Whether it is producing and updating local plans, forming masterplans, or having frank discussions with building owners and developers, districts are ideally placed to help deliver the vital transformations needed to ensure town centres are vibrant places for new generations in the retail landscape.
