EXCLUSIVE: Government prepares for new rate reliefs

The Government has started to prepare the ground for the introduction of new business rate reliefs after its previous efforts were labelled a ‘shambles’.

Councils were previously accused of being slow to reissue 2017/18 bills following the introduction of £450m of Whitehall relief, leading the Government to name and shame councils failing to deliver business rates relief.
