EXCLUSIVE: Streeting calls for new Parliamentary campaign

Local Government Association vice-president Wes Streeting has called for a cross-party coalition of MPs to campaign for a major and urgent increase in council funding.

Speaking to The MJ, Labour’s Mr Streeting said last week’s Budget failed to address the financial crisis facing councils and called for more effort from his fellow Parliamentarians to campaign for fresh resources ahead of next spring’s Spending Review.
