Edinburgh welcomes tourism tax plan

SNP-controlled Edinburgh City Council has welcomed the inclusion of a Transient Visitor Levy Bill in the Scottish Government’s programme for Scotland.

The Bill will create a discretionary power for local authorities to apply a tax or levy on overnight visitor stays.
