Fresh funding plea amid union pressure

Council leaders have refreshed their appeal for extra resources from the Scottish Government under pressure from unions over pay.

Ahead of the upcoming Scottish Budget next month, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) warned immense pressures on social care meant it was now a ‘ticking time bomb’.
