From care services to more caring places

The recent work conducted by the Public Accounts Committee and the National Audit Office (NAO) into the adult social care workforce was as predictable as it was depressing.

It confirmed with data what most already know – that the sector is underfunded, its workforce is underpaid, there are labour shortages and providers are closing – all in the paradoxical context of social care as a UK growth industry.
