GMB accepts pay offer but stalemate persists

Stalemate has hit pay negotiations for local government staff despite a vote by one of the trade unions to accept the employers’ offer.

GMB members have voted to accept an offer for basic salaries to climb 1% in April and a further 1% next year after union leaders told them they did not think it would be improved.
