Gang injunctions could be used to control youngsters

Local authorities could soon be given use of far-reaching gang injunctions to tackle 14 to 17-year-olds involved in gang-related violence.

Established by the Home Office through the Policing and Crime Act 2009, the civil orders currently deal only with over-18s. Lewisham LBC and Enfield LBC have been at the forefront of implementing such measures.
