Healing the deepest cuts

Earlier this month, a crowd gathered outside the Houses of Parliament holding pillowcases decorated with messages from women and children who have been helped by local welfare provision (LWP).

 They were protesting at government plans to withdraw funding for LWP, a form of emergency support which has been used over the past year to help the most vulnerable in times of crisis.
