During the course of the pandemic we have seen Britain at its best and, admittedly, at times, its worst.
From the scientific achievement of the vaccine rollout to the way ordinary people across the country have come forward and performed extraordinary acts of selflessness, both for and in their communities, it is enough to elicit a smile from even the most cynical misanthrope.
