Honesty is still the best policy

Sifting through the emails between the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) and the Valuation Office Agency (VAO) dealing with errors in the provisional finance settlement reveals an uncomfortable truth – that those involved seem more interested in remaining ‘blame free’ than in resolving the matter.

The fact that the provisional finance settlement was based on faulty figures appears to be a case of cock-up rather than conspiracy.

Someone, somehow got the numbers wrong.

It happens.
