Housing: we need national fixes for a national problem

Over recent years, many have referred to a housing crisis but what does it mean for local government?

In very simple terms, the crisis has come about through basic economics: namely the demand for affordable housing is outstripping supply. This article sets out from a local authority perspective why this has happened and the implications for the public sector.
