Inflation may drive increased insourcing

Councils may be propelled to bring services back in-house to escape contracts tied to inflation amid Bank of England predictions it will peak at 11%.

Data showed inflation hit 10.1% in the 12 months to July - the highest rate since February 1982 and much higher than the typically assumed rate of 2.5%.
