Javid returns grant powers to Tower Hamlets

Sajid Javid has returned the power to award grants to community groups to Tower Hamlets LBC.

The communities secretary has also decided to end commissioner oversight of the council’s procurement practices and reduce the Government-appointed commissioner team at the London borough from four to three.
